Congratulations Steve Gedeon

On Sept. 29, 2009 SIFE’s very own faculty advisor was awarded with the Ryerson Experiential Teaching Award.
The Ryerson Experiential Teaching Award, which Gedeon won, recognizes one Ryerson educator who has an outstanding teaching record and who made contributions to advancing teaching and learning at Ryerson with a particular focus on students’ experiential learning.
As faculty advisor of SIFE Ryerson, Gedeon works directly with students on their entrepreneurial dreams.
“One of my personal mantras is that whenever someone talks to me, I give them my total attention,” said Gedeon. “I make all my other problems disappear for a few minutes so that I can focus on giving that person a transformational experience. You never know when a 5 minute conversation or feedback on a presentation can change someone else’s life. When you add up all those little conversations and “learning moments” over a year, you can really affect people in a deep way.”
Gedeon teaches in the Entrepreneurship and Strategy department, and is Director, Ryerson Entrepreneur Institute; and Director, Ryerson Angel Network.
Congratulations Steve!
