Description

SAGE (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship), is an international network that links secondary school students to nearby University/College students and business civic leaders. We give students the opportunity to receive hands on experience on what it is like in the business working world. Students create innovative projects that impact their school and the surrounding community. These projects have limitless opportunities and give students a chance to expand their horizon, improve their skills and help them learn what direction they want to go in. The primary goal of SAGE is to advance youth entrepreneurship and community service around the world, emphasizing ethical business practices, social responsibility, civic engagement and environmental awareness. SAGE offers students a chance to compete in a Regional, National and Global competition showcasing their projects presenting their achievements. COMPETITIONS: Towards the end of each school year, each participating high school develops a 15-20 minute presentation about their student led initiatives. Each SAGE team presents the results, both orally and in writing, of their activities to a panel of influential business and community leaders. The team that most successfully fulfills the ten SAGE criteria, as showcased in their presentation, is recognized as the top team and advances to the next level of competition (e.g. from National to Global.)

Impact
The SAGE Georges Vanier Team participated in the SAGE World Cup and won 1st Place in the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) #1 – To End Poverty & Hunger and they also won the Spirit Award for accomplishing so much in only 4 months.
- Over 10 schools are participating in SAGE as of September 2009
