Biographical Sketch

Charles Davis has more than 25 years of professional experience in Canada and internationally in the area of innovation policy and management, with a focus on SMEs, regional development, R&D management, and development of technology-intensive or creative industries, especially the information and communication technology (ICT) and media sectors.

Davis is the author or co-author of more than 100 scientific publications and reports, and has received numerous research grants from federal scholarly granting agencies, international agencies, and private firms. Davis’ current research focuses on digital cinema, the development of firm-level capabilities in Toronto’s cultural economy, entrepreneurship in creative industries, and management of firms in the creative content and internet technology industries. Davis’ list of consulting clients includes the World Bank, UNESCO, Industry Canada, ACOA, other national governmental agencies, and various private firms. He earned his PhD from the Université de Montréal.
