ENT 730 Entrepreneurial Organizational Appraisal I
Many students view the capstone courses of the entrepreneurship major (ENT 730 & ENT 830) as their favourite courses at Ryerson. This is because students finally get to put their theoretical knowledge into practical application and they get a sense of what they will face in the business world. “I found that I developed my presentation skills during weekly presentations and updates. I liked that Professor Gedeon has high expectations for his students and he is one of the most dedicated teachers I have ever had.” Students must choose an organization to work with before the semester starts. Students then form their own groups and work directly with the firm of their choice and analyze it through many different lenses. These lenses will allow the firm to be evaluated in terms of financial performance, technologies, processes and competencies. By the end of the course each group will provide recommendations for their firm. Other projects include event planning and web development. Students are required to think critically and there is an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills.
